Interesting pod that left me with some random thoughts:
Feminism did at least free women from bad marriages. It's very hard to leave someone when you can't open a bank account or rent an apartment. Smartly, capital adopted limited feminism to blunt further progress.
Putin gets credit for pulling Russia back from failure, but what a bleak project he now leads. Very American. Aimless war quagmire, useless culture warring. No real vision for something different.
China depressingly also has not offered a true alternative to capitalism. It might be the best form of capitalism. Perhaps I can't blame them after being treated by the West and Japan for so much of their recent history. But the stories of temporary work and lots of courier jobs is depressing. It seems they gorge on credit that becomes increasingly less productive but cannot pivot to a slower more human way of life.
I do know some men who are at home full time dads. While they enjoy it, it's really not acceptable on American society and it can be isolating as there are so few of them out there. Full time homemaker is a tough lot.

There may be some form of intelligence backchannel involved in Tate's SPIEF visit. His father was Air Force Intelligence, apparently working in Russian affairs (h/t Miles Mathis). https://thechessdrum.net/blog/2015/10/21/emory-tate-chess-savant-warrior-1958-2015/
