I read surveillance valley when it came out and have gone back to read a few chapters and stewed on it over the years. It’s incredible how everything has to be mitigated or facilitated through apps. In terms of politics the effects have been devastating in my opinion. The promises of a libratory internet has completely collapsed but I’m not sure how many people have come to grips with that. With every post I see about leaving instagram it comes with following them on several other apps.
