Navalny, the doc
Since the big HBO/CNN Navalny documentary is premiering this weekend, I figure I’d remind people that Evgenia and I recorded an episode of The Russians on it a few months ago, when the film was still just being shown at Sundance. This was pre-war — during more innocent times — and before Navalny got a 9-year prison sentence on bullshit charges.
Not to spoil the fun, but unfortunately the film doesn’t really deliver, even if Navalny’s own real-life stunts against Putin’s elite are at times very impressive.
