Narrating Pistachio Wars
I’m recovering for Covid — my second infection, or the second one that I know about. Covid is a strange kind of sickness. This time, just like the last time I got it in Italy, I had a nice head high — euphoric, building to a more and more pleasant sensation as I got sicker. Then it was replaced by a headache and muscle cramps and pains. All day yesterday it felt like someone was following around and giving me little kicks to the groin. A very weird virus. But I’m feeling a lot better so I can finally write this update.
Rowan and I hit another big Pistachio Wars milestone last week: I took a train down to New York to record the final version of the narration that will accompany our film. I spent two full days in the studio speaking into the mic and drinking like ten gallons of water to lubricate the throat while Rowan tried to direct me as best he could. I have a good voice, but I’m no voice actor.
Next up in our Pistachio Wars saga: submitting to festivals and figuring out how we can get this thing into theaters and onto streaming platforms. So…if you have any connections, please do get in touch!
Anyway, here’s me looking happy stuck in a tiny soundproof box at Telescope Studios in Brooklyn.
