For now I think I’m done telling the story of Leonid Pylaev — the Soviet bard, Nazi collaborator, boozer, and CIA propagandist. I want to end it with what I think is Leonid’s best song — a song in which he at least tries to deal with the split personality experience of being a refugee and a traitor who still identified with the country and people he betrayed.
