Great interview - three of my favorite journalists together. Just add Joe Lauria, Glenn Greenwald and Jimmy Dore for some comedy, and the cast is complete.
For someone so sanctimonious about propaganda/state media, does Blumenthal’s status as the heir to the Clinton fortune not bother you? How about GZ’s documented ties to Russian state propaganda, or their defense (read: praise) of authoritarians, so long as they’re not Western?
I’m a big fan of Yasha’s work, but the willful disregard of GZ/Blumenthal’s blatant conflicts of interest and borderline Assad apologia (by many voices on the left) is jarring.
If you follow them, you can witness their change of view about the situation in Syria. They have a episode where they talk about it. Second they are not apologists of Assad, they criticize based on facts how the media try to portrait djihadists as simple rebels. I met a Syrian who was in those protests against Assad's government, asking for more democracy. When he realized that the "rebels" were controlled or supported group like Isis or Al Nusra, he sided with the government, even if he still want changes bc he understood that the opposite would be worst. He added too that if the West wanted to topple Assad, they could have done a long time ago. They just want instability.
Thanks for sharing Yasha, it was great having you on! By the way, we posted the segments separately, with the audio and technical issues fixed:

Lawrence, kindly cut the BS.
