Since I’m not only a husband but also a PR agent, I want to make sure you know that Evgenia has a very cool event lined up for next weekend in Kingston, upstate New York. There’ll be a 35th anniversary screening of Ghost. And after the film,
will have a discussion with Bruce Joel Rubin, who wrote the screenplay and won an Oscar for it. Bruce is an amazing person. He’s been in Hollywood most of his life and yet is the wisest (and dare I say, holiest) person I know. He also wrote Jacob’s Ladder, one of my favorite films. I always thought that Jacob’s Ladder was about Vietnam War mind experiments with ultra-hallucinogen BZ. And it is, but it’s also about life and death and how you transition from one to another. Bruce says both Ghost and Jacob’s Ladder are basically about the same thing — both inspired by his Buddhist meditation practice and the Tibetan Book of the Dead.Come out if you’re upstate. I’m really looking forward to it. IT’S FREE!

I'm so sad Evgenia first posted about this the day after we got tickets to something for that day. I would have loved to have brought Jenny to this. I've wanted to show her Ghost for years for what I considered trivial reasons and this sounds like I'd have learned a lot I felt but didn't articulate. Plus it would be great to take the train and see you guys. I hope it goes great.
